The Sacrament of Baptism

Baptism symbolizes God’s commitment to everyone. Through this act, God graciously assures us: our mistakes will be forgiven; we are welcomed into the Church, Christ’s family; we'll be continuously refreshed and purified by the Holy Spirit; and we are destined for everlasting life. The symbolism of these promises is embodied in the water used for baptism.

We joyfully carry out this rite for babies and adults who haven’t been baptized before. Our baptism ritual involves pledges not only from the baby’s parents or the adult undergoing baptism but from the entire Sunnyside Reformed Church congregation as well. Whenever someone gets baptized here, the entire community commits to guiding, uplifting, and backing them by sharing the message of God’s love, exemplifying Christian values, and offering unwavering support in prayers, fellowship, and acts of service.

Because the congregation is involved in making these commitments, baptism is performed during our regular worship gatherings. We also hope that parents wanting their children to be baptized will continue to engage with our faith community, enabling us to fulfill our baptismal commitments together.

Baptism ceremonies are conducted all year round. To organize one, simply reach out to our pastor here.
