About Our Church

Sunnyside Reformed Church is an open and affirming Christian community in Queens, New York, rooted in the teachings of Jesus and committed to love, justice, and service. As part of both the Reformed Church in America (RCA) and the United Church of Christ (UCC), we honor the rich traditions of our faith while remaining open to new perspectives.

We believe that all people are created in God’s image and are welcome here—no matter who you are, who you love, or where you are on your spiritual journey. Our inclusive community embraces the gifts of the LGBTQIA+ community, women, differently-abled individuals, and all who seek connection with God. We value diversity and strive to live out Christ’s radical love and justice in the world.

Our worship is rooted in scripture, combining traditional liturgy with a variety of music styles. We gather every Sunday at 11 AM for a time of reflection, gratitude, and renewal, and on the first Sunday of each month, we hold a coffee hour after service to build community.

At Sunnyside, we believe in scripture’s power but also recognize that faith is a dynamic journey. We encourage questions and embrace doubt as part of growing in faith. Our beliefs are grounded in the Apostles’ Creed, and we are guided by the Belhar Confession's call for unity, reconciliation, and justice.

We are committed to serving both our local and global communities and welcome everyone to join us in living out Christ’s love through acts of compassion and justice. Whether through worship, outreach, or fellowship, Sunnyside Reformed Church is a place for all. We look forward to welcoming you!
